Hiring: Senior Advisor – Controllership 📍 Location: Montreal, QC, Canada 🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – Minimum 3 days onsite per week 🗣️ Language: Fluent in English & French (Written and Spoken) Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor – Controllership to support financial reporting, technical accounting, governance, and business performance management. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IFRS, financial controls, month-end closing, and financial analysis, along with the ability to provide strategic accounting advice and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entry reviews.Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, accounting policies, and internal control requirements.Perform financial variance analysis and provide insights on business performance, risks, and opportunities.Lead technical accounting assessments for complex transactions and provide recommendations.Support accounting judgements, estimates, disclosures, and audit-related matters.Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Legal, Operations, and senior business stakeholders.Identify financial reporting risks and strengthen governance and control frameworks.Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization of finance operations.Required Qualifications & SkillsCPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification.Strong experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.Hands-on experience with IFRS in complex business environments.Expertise in month-end close, reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting.Strong financial analysis and variance analysis skills.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to interpret complex financial information and provide business recommendations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken).Important RequirementsMust be based in or able to commute to Montreal, QC.Minimum 3 days onsite per week.Bilingual proficiency in English and French is mandatory.
