Company: Beyond Apps Group company Location: Cairo, Egypt | On-site Employment Type: Full-Time Your Contributions Job Description: We are seeking a hands-on Senior / Mid-Level Software Engineer to design, build, and ship features across our MERN-stack platform. You will work on microservices and event-driven back ends with Node.js and MongoDB, and on responsive React front ends, with a strong focus on code quality, security, and API and web performance. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who owns features end to end, communicates clearly, collaborates well with product and design, and actively uses AI tools to raise speed and quality. Senior engineers will also help set the technical bar through design reviews and mentoring. Your primary goal will be to deliver reliable, secure, high-performing features and grow with the team. Responsibilities: Feature Delivery & Collaboration Design, develop, test, and deploy full stack features across Next.js (React) front-ends and Node.js/Express back-end services, from requirements to production.Work with product managers, designers, and QA to clarify requirements, estimate work, and deliver on committed timelines.Break work into well-scoped tasks and communicate progress, risks, and blockers early to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Take part in code reviews, giving and receiving clear, constructive feedback.Back-End & Architecture Build and maintain RESTful APIs and services within our microservices and event-driven architecture, following agreed service boundaries and integration patterns.Model data and write efficient queries in MongoDB; use Redis for caching where appropriate.Write secure code following OWASP Top 10 practices, with proper authentication and authorization (OAuth2/JWT) and careful handling of user and payment data.Senior level: lead the design of complex features and services, and document key technical decisions and trade-offs.Front-End Development Build responsive, accessible, and reusable React components with TypeScript, integrating cleanly with our APIs.Manage application state, data fetching, and error handling in a consistent and maintainable way.Performance & Reliability (API & Web)Improve API performance: latency, throughput, caching, and query optimization.Improve web performance: Core Web Vitals, bundle size, rendering, and load times.Contribute to logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting, and help troubleshoot production issues.Quality & Delivery Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.Keep technical documentation clear and up to date.Senior level: mentor mid-level and junior engineers and help raise the team’s engineering bar.AI & InnovationUse AI tools daily for coding, code reviews, testing, and documentation, while critically reviewing their output.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and suggest improvements as needed. Required Qualifications: Mid-level: 4+ years / Senior: 6+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience.Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js in production (TypeScript preferred).Solid experience with React (hooks, state management, component design) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including data modeling, indexing, and aggregation pipelines; experience with Redis for caching.Working knowledge of microservices and event-driven systems (senior candidates should have designed and shipped them).Practical knowledge of application and API security (OWASP Top 10, OAuth2/JWT).Experience delivering measurable API and web performance improvements (senior candidates: a proven track record).Experience with automated testing (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress or Playwright).Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Daily, practical use of AI tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in the development workflow. Preferred: Experience with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda or similar).
