Accountant Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOE - up to £40,000 p/a for exceptional experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Teignmouth, Devon Are you an experienced Practice Accountant looking to join a friendly and supportive accountancy firm? We are recruiting on behalf of our client, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join their growing team, supporting a diverse portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied workload, and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Completion of self-assessment tax returns. Preparation of corporation tax returns. Preparing and submitting VAT returns. Producing management accounts for clients. Monthly bookkeeping duties. Assisting with Capital Gains Tax calculations and related matters. Liaising with clients to obtain information and provide ongoing support. Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience in Self-Assessment Tax Returns Experience in preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. AAT qualification (or equivalent). A minimum of 3 years' accountancy practice experience. Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving. The ability to work independently and use your own initiative. A collaborative approach and strong teamwork skills.
